Impacts of Pollutant Emissions from Typical Petrochemical Enterprises on Air Quality in the North China Plain

Under the state’s key surveillance, petrochemical industries are considered polluting enterprises. Even though large-scale enterprises follow complete treatment of combustion waste gas, process and volatile organic gas pollutants, impact pollutant emissions on regional air quality is unclear. This study used atmospheric chemical transport model adopted subtraction method to simulate impacts from four typical North China Plain. Results indicated that surface PM2.5, SO2, NO2 concentrations mainly contributed nearby area, particularly SO2 NO2. The pollution can be controlled within boundaries plants. Petrochemical had a small contribution with maximum up 4.65% 9 km distance. Emissions less PM2.5 (less than 0.5%) Surface O3 driven by did not show near-source distribution characteristics, which were closely related its complex precursors secondary reactions.
